Smash Web Design was founded in the summer of 2002 as a joint venture between Cosmo Marketing and Varnum Enterprises. The owners of those two companies, Christopher Pollum and Greg Varnum became partners in what they envisioned as an innovative web site design company focused on getting the best results possible for their clients. The result of this vision was the basis for Smash Web Design's goals. Smash Web Design is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which is often times referred to as the heart of Michigan's technology industry.
In July of 2004, Varnum Enterprises purchased Cosmo Marketing's share of Smash Web Design making Varnum Enterprises the sole owner of the web site design firm. Smash Web Design continues to work with Cosmo Marketing and maintains a close working relationship with its owner, Christopher Pollum.
